My water-heating system was acting up. It was the first time since I bought it that I needed to call someone. I wasn’t quick to do it, either. I have been burned by repairmen in the past (a car, a lock, a blender – to name a few), so I am not in any hurry to call a guy.
On the other hand, it was November, and I was freezing. All I wanted was a nice hot shower when I got home, but it seems the heating system had other plans. Instead of getting into a nice hot shower, I was greeted by a broken heater, and the prospect of a huge electrical bill. I wasn’t about to take this bullet and just call anyone. Experience is a bitter teacher.
I wanted to make absolutely sure that I am doing this with the clea rest head possible, so I went to sleep that night without a shower. It’s only Jerusalem, and I had my big blanket. I would have loved to crawl under that blanket all fresh and clean, but alas it was not my fate.
A day later, I called a friend who was in the refrigerator repair business, and asked him about different people. These repair-industry people know how to not get screwed over, and I wanted to make damn sure I didn’t get overcharged. He said that there is a company he has complete faith in, so he gave me the number and I called up.
I gave them a quick desciption of my system, made an appointment, and waited patiently. This in itself is a challenge for me, because I can get cranky without a hot shower. I know, I have issues to work on, whatever, but that is how it went down.
The guy showed up, actually spoke to me words I could understand and not jargon, and got to work. It seems that he knew what he was doing, and I felt good about the visit. The entire thing didn’t end up costing me as much as I thought it would, and needless to say I was very happy about that. If you are going to pay for someone to repair something, the least they can do is show up on time and be borderline friendly.
So, I guess what I am trying to say is – thank, Efes Takalot. You guys are okay in my book. And make no mistake, I have many in my book who are not okay at all. I hold grudges, what can I do?
I try and do the best I can at my own job, which is why I hold people acountable if they mistreat me or take advantage. I have worked with people, and with computers. Regardless – if you don’t do your job properly, you won’t get a second chance with me. I am a judgemental client, I admit, and I have no problem saying that.
These guys are available in the Jerusalem and Modi’in areas, I think. Give them a call if you need any household appliance help.
